April 1, 1995

DMLEK Founded — Initial General Assembly

The founding general assembly of DMLEK is held in Sudan, establishing the Democratic Movement for the Liberation of Eritrean Kunama.

October 18, 1998

First General Assembly

The first general assembly convenes in Tigray, Ethiopia, consolidating the movement's leadership and charting the path forward for Kunama advocacy.

September 15, 2002

Second General Assembly

The second general assembly is held in Tigray, Ethiopia, reviewing progress and renewing commitment to the rights of the Kunama people.

April 1, 2006

Third General Assembly

The third general assembly convenes in Tigray, Ethiopia, marking eleven years of sustained advocacy for democratic rights and Kunama self-determination.

December 19, 2010

Fourth General Assembly

The fourth general assembly is held in Tigray, Ethiopia, strengthening alliances with allied democratic organizations across the region.

Fifth General Assembly

The fifth general assembly convenes, reaffirming DMLEK's mission and adapting strategy to the evolving political landscape in Eritrea and the Horn of Africa.
